The Hope Centre Allotment – June ’20

>> Business Stories, People

Spent an hour and a half at The Hope Centre allotment recently, on a lovely sunny morning which was perfect as blue skies in a photograph make such a difference.

Joe (Head Gardener) and Robin (CEO) were happy to be directed so we could ‘set up’ as many photos as possible. The more variety I could get, the more ways they could use them with conversations they were having across their social media sites.

Taking photographs for charities is something I donate my time to do.

🤣 Now I know this isn’t the most exciting pho 🤣 Now I know this isn’t the most exciting photograph you are going to see today, but I spotted this ‘Velcro’ plant and thought first of my 2 boys, who stand taller than me now but when they were tinier used to stick it on each other’s backs when the other wasn’t looking, and then the #jmhphotochallenge2021
.
🌱Took the photo then got a bit geeky and decided to look up whether there was a more ‘technical’ name for it.
.
Found someone saying it’s been called Catchweed Bedstraw and Stickywilly!
.
Stopped my searching right there, who cares about the boring Latin name, or if there is one, these names make me smile and I like that.
.
If you’ve got a photo with a fun fact to add to it, add the #jmhphotochallenge2021 so we can all have a smile 😆
.
Challenge 1: IN YOUR HANDS

It’s a cold Sunday morning here in Northampton. It’s a cold Sunday morning here in Northampton. Ventured out briefly to get these pretty, frosty leaves in my hand.
.
It says we might get snow so maybe I’ll get a snowball later. Anyone got snow now?
.
If you want to get involved in this photo challenge, it’s easy and for everyone. We’re taking pics that work with the words ‘In Your Hands’’ at the moment. All you have to do is take a picture that fits and then share it using the #jmhphotochallenge2021 so we can all see.
.
Make sense?

The #JMHPhotoChallenge2021 - we skipped 2020 but The #JMHPhotoChallenge2021 -
we skipped 2020 but its back and Challenge 1 is: ‘IN YOUR HANDS’.
.
This is for every kind of photo and photographer, no matter how good or not so good you are.
.
It’s about keeping your pics as simple and/or creative as you like. About taking time to really see what’s around you, whether that’s indoors or out. It may just be a reason to venture out. Most of all though, it’s about having some fun.
.
In 2019 the challenge was about spotting colours, which changed monthly. This year, it could be about anything and may change after a day, week or month - so keep a look out!
.
This is how it works. Check to see what the ‘challenge’ is then keep a look out:
.
1. You may spot something, or set it up
2. Snap it
3. Post it with a bit of why and where (if you want)
4. Remember to use the # (above)
5. Chat to whoever says hello
