Since the Christmas tombola at St Crispins Retirement Village we have been back a few times to say hello. One day we got chatting to Anna King about collaborating on a fundraiser there and suggested an SOS Charity Fashion Show, as they have the perfect room for it. Anna loved the idea. The residents would get the fun of strutting their stuff down the catwalk and there was the excuse to serve prosecco :-)
Anna wanted the money we raised to go to SANDS, a charity that provides help and support for bereaved parents and families who have suffered the loss of a child. We got in touch with Northamptonshire Sands, met up with the 2 amazing ladies that run it, Maggie and Viv, and a plan was hatched.
Maureen, a resident of St Crispins sold tickets within the village, Anna invited Councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage and Councillor Jonathan Hunn, organised the prosecco and the seating. We sold tickets to our JAMMIE supporters, made some posters to display and ran the raffle on the night. SOS set up and ran the fashion show side of things. Great teamwork!
Happy to say it was a great evening with about 60 guests and we raised a very exciting amount of £1,554!
