Our third ?J.A.M. fundraiser. First one was for The Lewis Foundation, second one for Northamptonshire Rape Crisis and this one was all for Follyfoot – Healing with Horses . If after reading this you would like some help or advice about a fundraiser just drop me a message here.
This event was a shopping evening of pre-loved women’s clothes, in a small (private) venue that held between 30 – 35 people. We put the word out for donations of good quality clothes, sold tickets through LinkedIn, FB and Instagram with a price tag of £10, asked 3 experts to join us on the night, found clothes rails on FB Marketplace and borrowed more from Butterflies Dress Agency & Boutique and friends.
A raffle is perfect for encouraging guests to donate a little more money so we bought 3 pre-loved baskets off FB Marketplace, called them ‘ Pamper Hamper’, ‘Tipple Hamper’ and ‘Snack & Stroll Hamper’ and packed them with lots of lovely things, including some local produce from St Giles Cheese.
Lesley Clarke showed her support for us again, joining us on the evening to share her knowledge on colour and styles. Kristina of Butterflies Dress Agency gave advice on any alterations that might work, Lauren on simple ways to style our hair and Yvonne of Voni Blu donated shopping bags to the evening.
The evening was an absolute success. We served prosecco to the guests as they arrived, set up a tab so they could pay by bank transfer at the end of the evening if they wanted, and one of the founders of Follyfoot, Claire Friend, got the ball rolling with her story – the reason why Follyfoot is here today.
These are some of the images that shouted out about the event. Created by me, the ‘J’ of J.A.M. their job is to catch the eye and tell the story. They sell the tickets, talk about fundraising pages that may have been set up, shout out about the businesses that have supported us and most importantly raise awareness for the charity.
Through the sale of clothes, raffle and generous donations we made a total of £1,442 – BUT we are still selling so this is not yet the final amount. Big J.A.M. THANKYOU to everyone who supported the event, all of you we’ve already mentioned but also those of you that came along on the night and helped us to spread the word, we couldn’t have done it without you.
One last thing, a whisper for Caroline Strawson, “Thankyou for your beautiful, very kind, discreet (not so much now!) and generous donation xxx”
Till next time,
