Hi, I’m Julia. Based in Northamptonshire I work with small businesses, sometimes in very small spaces and with budgets of all sizes. I take relaxed, candid photographs and video clips with my iPhone and get them ‘talking’ with the help of the graphic design tool Canva.
If you want help creating visuals that will show and tell the stories of you and your business then you are in the right place.
I’m not just about taking photos though; take a look at What I do for a full rundown.
Well, I like to think I am friendly, relaxed and easy to have around; important since I will be in your space, taking the close-ups of you working or chatting to my little camera.
Before that though, I’ll take time to understand what your business is about and what you want people to see and know about you. The story you want to tell.
I’m sure you’re brilliant at what you do, but maybe you feel your creative side is not quite as good? Let me do the snapping to get the photos you need. It’ll be a fun experience I promise.
Head to Happy Clients to see what the great people and organisations I’ve worked with enjoyed most about us working together.
I’ve been snapping photos since my teens and am old enough to have experienced putting films in cameras and facing the dilemma as to whether something was important enough to use one of those precious 24 numbers.
The oldest pictures are in photo albums that are a little tattered now, the more recent in photobooks that are fresh and on display, and the rest are lounging around in the cloud for safekeeping and future projects.
For me they’re all there to look back on; to remember people and places, the achievements, laughter, sadness and surprises. That’s part of what makes photography so special.
My life today is in the Northamptonshire countryside, with my husband, 2 sons and Georgie Dog. Before we settled here in 2002, I spent my early years in West Africa, school years in Yorkshire, working years in London, Bristol, Coventry and Rugby, then volunteering work years in India, Poland and now here in Northampton.
As well as JMH, family is still a very big part of my daily life. Friends are too, and Georgie Dog and I always enjoy meeting up for walks whenever we can. Time spent exploring the countryside, towns and villages of Northants is never wasted in my book!
Well that’s me; what about you?
